I value greatly the early stage of product development, where you might spend time understanding the problem space, data, and who you’re designing for. I’m as comfortable conducting research studies and analyzing findings as I am designing or facilitating workshops. My favorite part of the week is reading a research study or prototyping new interactions in Figma. Some my call me a generalist, but I would say I’m well-rounded and curious.

I spent much of the past five years working independently in my domain, as part of a small team of designers doing the same. This experience taught me to trust my design decisions, learn how to articulate them clearly to stakeholders, and to value cross-team collaboration. Working alongside a variety of experts encouraged me to know my sh** (ahem, data) and to find a home with multiple teams.

My design values

  • Be curious. Ask questions about everything - the context, the problem, who you’re designing for. What you haven't learned yet might be pivotal.

  • Follow a process, but be scrappy. No process is ever perfect. Be critical of how you spend your time when building confidence on a solution.

  • Collaboration is king. It’s easy to get stuck in your own perspective when you’re an expert in a specific area. Get feedback, work with teammates who know something different from you, and watch your ideas grow and flourish.

  • Love your users. They’re the reason we design! Get to know them, understand their needs, meet them where they are, and they’ll love your product back.

  • Keep it simple. Design your solutions to support the job to be done without overcomplicating the user journey.

I’m a very positive, open and friendly person. I show appreciation where it’s due and love to lift up others.

Most of my hobbies involve food, whether it’s trying something new, cooking, reading about it, or my favorite - traveling for it. I have a passion for travel, too, and think the best way to learn about a culture is through their food. I’m lucky to have tried many new foods over the years. :)

I’ve just recently moved back to my hometown Indianapolis, Indiana after five amazing years of living in and traveling around Spain. I look forward to exploring more of the US and the Americas (and to put my Spanish-speaking skills to good use).
